Team Bria Walks & Rides for Charity

Bria Communities Fundraising Alzheimer's Society Walk
Bria Communities Fundraising Heart and Stroke

Spring weather brings opportunities to get out in the community and make a difference! This month Bria staff, residents, family members put on red Bria shirts and got out in our neighbourhoods to help raise funds for two terrific causes that have a significant impact on the seniors we serve.

On Sunday, 05 May, staff from The Waterford and The Wexford stepped out to walk in the inaugural South Delta Walk for Alzheimer’s along with 300 other community members. ‘Team Waterford’ had a special connection to the walk, as this year’s honoree Ron Powell’s mother is a resident. The entire team worked hard to raise funds and were able to contribute $4055.75!

The following Wednesday, Team Bria put the pedals to the metal and rode the Heart and Stroke Big Big in Langley. Wearing sombreros, bonnets, crowns and turkeys the team had a hilarious time showing off Bria spirit on their trip around town. Bria rode the Big Bike for the fourth year, and this year they raised $2,850.15 to support critical research being done to eliminate strokes and heart disease.

Participating in events that matter to our residents and have an impact on their well-being is fun and rewarding! Well done to everyone who gave, helped and walked or rode—your contribution makes a positive impact now and in the future
